At the beginning of the month, members vote on a focus area.
Members then nominate nonprofits that meet our criteria: fighting for equity and justice, operating with less than a $1 million budget, and having good financial standing.
Finally, that month’s total contribution is made to the selected nonprofit in the name of The Vocal Minority. By pooling our resources in this way, we are capable of making an outsized impact.
The tragic losses of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain remind us that suicide is a major public health issue, accounting for nearly 45,000 deaths in 2016 alone. We're searching for an organization looking to prevent suicide, and to remind us that more must be done to tackle this growing problem.
